Nina Pongratz is an American dancer, teacher, director, and choreographer. She is a graduate of the MA in Contemporary Dance (Irish World Academy of Music and Dance) and of the BA in Dance & Communications (Muhlenberg College, USA). Nina trained at Walnut Hill School of the Arts, has studied with David Parsons Dance Company (NYC), danced with Six Meters Dance Company (USA), and Fidget Feet Dance Company (IRE).
Prior to ITW Nina taught dance technique, performance, and composition at The University of Limerick, Dance Limerick, Dance UL, and the Limerick Hip-Hop Intervention Project. She has worked with Enable Ireland, Downs Syndrome Ireland, and the University of Limerick Postgraduate Medical School engaging in research studying the effects dance has on youth with complex neurological and physical mixed abilities.
Nina is a member of the Limerick Dance Collective (IRE), recently presenting choreography at Dance Limerick. In 2015 she was an Artist in Residence at Shawbrook (Co. Longford Dance) and with Dance UL choreographing and directing the dance film, Holding On funded by Limerick City Arts Office. Nina's choreography won first place in the All Ireland Dance Intervarsity Competition 2015. In 2012 Nina received a grant to conduct research for the musical Hairspray and has choreographed dozens of musicals including 25th Annual..Spelling Bee, Seussical the Musical, Annie Jr., Oklahoma, and has worked alongside Broadway directors and producers.
