The ITW Graham Dance Team is exclusively for ITW students. It is now split into two teams. The Company and The Elite Team. The Elite Dance Team prepares students who are keen to explore dance on a more serious note preparing them for college and pre-professional dance work, while The Company are focused on one specific style. The ITW Dance Teams perform at local and international dance competitions and festivals including but not limited to the 5,6,7,8 Elite Dance Competition Belfast (multi-award winning), VAD Productions UK, Twilight, as well as on the main stage at PERFORM Ireland and Dance Platform in The Helix. Last year we took part in Take us 2 the Magic in Disneyland Paris in March 2024

GRAHAM Company and The Elite Team rehearse on Wednesday evenings at 7-8pm in ITW Clonskeagh during term time. The Elite Team also rehearse on Wednesdays from 5pm - 6pm.

In order to be eligible for Dance Company students must be taking their dance seriously and attend the class in their chosen style. For Elite team they must be in two additional dance classes and recreational gymnastic class once a week. Both Company and Elite must attend their additional dance classes at ITW Dance Studio classes available to Seniors include Ballet, Lyrical Contemporary, Jazz and Hip Hop.

We recommend all potential Company Members do the Dance Intensives during the Summer.

What to wear: Graham Company wear the Graham Leotard with black leggings and nude canvas jazz shoes. Hair tied up in a ponytail. ITW Dancewear can be ordered online in our ITW SHOP and will be delivered to ITW Studios for collection at class. Elite uniforms will be sent out at a later date.

Cost of the ITW Dance Company is €25 per week with Elite being €35 per week. The Graham fee does not include costumes or competition entry fees.

Khan Dance Company

ITW’s KHAN Dance Company seeks members 10-13 yrs of age with a great passion for dance who are committed to attending weekly rehearsals and classes. KHAN is one of three ITW Dance Companies who travel to Dance Competitions and perform at Festivals throughout the year.

The ITW Fosse Dance Company was re- imagined as we welcomed our Minis!! 6-9 year olds with a passion for dance and performance! Fosse is exclusively for ITW students who are excited to enter the world of competitive dance and performance. This mini elite dance company prepares students who are keen to explore dance on a more serious note preparing them for a more advanced level of dance. The ITW Dance Companies perform at local and international dance competitions and festivals including but not limited to the 5,6,7,8 Elite Dance Competition Belfast (multi-award winning), VAD Productions UK, Twilight Dance Competitions, as well as the Main Stage at PERFORM Ireland and Dance Platform in The Helix. In 2018 we went to Dance Camp in Disneyland Paris and we went back to Disneyland Paris in 2024 which was AMAZING!!!!

Fosse Company rehearse on Friday evenings at 4.00pm in ITW Clonskeagh during term time.

In order to be eligible for Dance Company students must be attend all the rehearsals and one (two if you are 8 or over) dance classes a week. ITW Dance Studio classes available this year will include Lyrical /Ballet, Jazz and Hip Hop.

We recommend all potential Company Members do the Dance Intensives during the Summer along with the Dance Company Training Week in August to prepare for the Auditions which take place in May and August each year.

What to wear: Fosse Company wear the Dance Company uniform which is available from Dance Portal Apparal and black split sole ballet or jazz shoes or bare feet. Hair tied up on a ponytail.

Cost of the ITW Dance Company is €25 per week, €250 per term due to the intensive nature of the programme which involves performance opportunities and competitions.

Our Senior Musical Theatre Company is where our most dedicated students put their ITW Dance and Drama training to the ultimate test: rehearsing and performing a full scale musical.

For the 2025/26 season, we are thrilled to announce that we’ll be performing the Pulitzer Award winning musical A Chorus Line.

In arrangement with Concord Theatricals, A Chorus Line’s story of a group of dedicated performers intensive audition process for the ensemble of a new broadway show, will be performed in our studio space in March 2026. With our second show, an original musical review and competition, set to be performed in May 2026.

We’re excited to use this opportunity to push our students to hone their performance skills, to work together as a company, and most importantly to put on a fantastic show. We hope to see you in rehearsals!

Class Requirements

Students in the Senior Musical Theatre Company are expected to research their shows, characters, and composers, and to treat the rehearsal process professionally.

Every week we focus on rehearsing the scenes, choreography and staging of our chosen musical with a professional Choreographer, Director and Musical Director who are there to bring out the best in every single child.

Our productions are especially chosen and often specifically written and adapted to allow every child to have their opportunity to shine.  With a limited company size there is the opportunity for every child to have plenty to do.

Our Musical Theatre training is among the best in the country and our students go on to perform professionally in theatres all over Dublin, Ireland and indeed the West End, including the shows staged by Festival Productions at the National Concert Hall every Christmas and the pantomimes at the Olympia, Gaiety, Abbey, Helix and Gate Theatres.  

A high level of commitment and enthusiasm is required for this class as we work to bring our students to performance level. Students audition for leading roles and chorus parts in our chosen musical and then work each week rehearsing every element of the show; acting, singing and choreography. Students must be involved in a Drama and Dance class to be eligible to become involved in our Musical Theatre Programme.

Nearer to show day we design and paint our scenery and organize costumes and props. Our productions range from in-house performances for friends and family to full-scale productions in a professional theatre.

Having just completed our performances of Frozen Jr. we are excited to be planning for our next production! And after an exciting first year of Drumcondra Musical Theatre with their production of Aladdin Kids, we are delighted to continue our work in Drumcondra again this year.

Both Dance and Drama are requirements to be involved in our Musical Theatre Teams, as it steadily trains the necessary skills and talents to execute a professional show. There will be auditions in early September so do select Musical Theatre on your registration form when re-booking for September classes to be considered for next years Company which will run from September to May.

Join us for an unforgettable experience as our talented students take the stage to share these classic stories with you. Performances are set year round at the Sean O’Casey Theatre, and we can’t wait to share this incredible journey with our community!

Rehearsals are every Sunday during term time from 10-11.45am at ITW Studios, Clonskeagh or Monday evenings 6.30-8.15pm in Drumcondra - there will also be 3 full days -  (to be confirmed in advance of term 3 starting) Excellent attendance at all ITW classes and rehearsals is required in order to be allowed to remain in the Company.

Register interest NOW - The fee is €220 per term for Clonskeagh and Drumcondra (Must also be involved in a Dance & Drama class to be eligible to join)*.

This includes all rehearsals including bank holiday and full day rehearsals. Performances will be in The Sean O’Casey Theatre April 6th & 7th 2025 for our Clonskeagh Company and Early May for our Drumcondra Company.

Our cast will also have the opportunity to take part in the MTI Junior Musical Theatre Festival on May 26th in Birmingham, UK. (The festival is optional and at an additional cost - approx €350 inc flights, T-Shirt, Hoodie, the MTI Festival, coach in UK and accommodation further information below)

Recent ITW Junior Musical Theatre Company productions include The Little Mermaid Jr, Shrek Jr, Matilda Jr, Disney’s Peter Pan Jr, Disney's Beauty and the Beast Jr, Guys and Dolls Jr, Annie Jr, The Wizard of Oz, Aladdin, Alice in Wonderland, ITW’s Nightmare Before Christmas and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Our production for April 2025 will be revealed very soon!

Following on from a very successful trip to the MTI Junior Theatre Festival in Birmingham in May 2019, 2022, 2023 and 2024 and online in May 2021 we are thrilled to have been accepted into the Festival for 2025! We perform a 15 minute excerpt from our show for a panel of adjudicators who are West End performers/professionals and take workshops with cast members from top West End Shows - This year our Little Mermaid Jr cast did workshops with cast members from Disney’s Frozen and saw performances from cast members of SIX and Bonnie & Clyde! We were awarded with an outstanding Achievement Award for Dance and two of our young performers were selected as ALL STARS and performed on the ICC stage in front of 1,500 people!. We also got to spend a fantastic day at Cadbury World in Bourneville.

Our graduates can be seen in leading roles and include the fabulous Al Porter, Ryan Andrews, George McMahon(Fair City, Limerick Panto), Ben Morris (Phantom West End, Beautiful, Commitments) Ciara Lyons (Legally Blonde, Gaiety Panto), Kathryn McKiernan (RTE, Freezin),Shane McDaid (Titanic, Madagascar West End), Clodagh Long (Commitments West End, Jeckyll and Hyde) Alison Dennan (Freezing, Cinderella), Ben Middleton (Matilda West End), David Crowley (Red Rock,Robin Hood) and more who star in the Olympia, Gaiety, Tivoli and Limerick Pantos and in the West End.

ITW Shakespeare Company

Our ITW Shakespeare Company have been awarded Gold School Status having taken part in The Shakespeare School Festivals for over 10 years. We have performed A Midsummer Night’s Dream, The Merchant of Venice, Macbeth, Twelfth Night and Romeo & Juliet in recent years and we are delighted to have been selected again to participate in the Schools Shakespeare Festival 2023 - this time invited to perform in London.

Our ITW Shakespeare Company have performed The Winters Tale, The Merchant of Venice, Hamlet, Macbeth, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Romeo & Juliet, Much Ado About Nothing and The Comedy of Errors in recent years and a non traditional production of A Midsummer Nights Dream via ZOOM in 2020. We also brought our Company to Shakespeare's Globe in London to see Much Ado About Nothing and The Comedy of Errors live on stage and to perform Merchant of Venice in Birmingham Old Rep with 2 days in Stratford doing workshops with the RSC and visiting Shakespeares Birthplace and School!

Our past cast members have also won awards for Shakespeare in many competitions including the SDToI Festival and Feis Maitiu. Our Grads have gone on to train professionally at top colleges including The LIR and RADA, and to perform professionally in Theatre, Film and Television too!

Our Shakespeare Company starts with a workshop on the 31st of August and continues then up until our performances on November 9th.

We will work together every week starting at the very beginning, de-mystifying Shakespeare up on our feet learning the nuts and bolts of Shakespeare’s work and language and culminating in performances live on stage in front of an audience of friends and family!

We are so proud of our Shakespeare Company 2020/21 who performed A Midsummer Nights Dream on ZOOM - rehearsed in the main outside and on ZOOM during September, October and November and recorded on ZOOM in November.

A high level of commitment is required and the rewards are huge!

 

  • Intensive rehearsals every Sunday from 12 to 2pm September to November.

  • A performance at The Sean O’Casey Theatre as part of our ITW Shakespeare Festival in mid November

  • A Day trip to London on October 21st to see a performance of The Twelfth Night in The Globe Theatre, Southbank

  • An acting workshop with an Actor from The Globe

  • A Tour of The Globe Theatre London


The cost is €210 to participate in the home performance (Sept-Nov inc all workshops and rehearsals ) plus costs if you want to do the UK part too; flights, Tickets, Workshops etc approx €150 -will get best deals possible).  

We encourage the parents to get on board to organise some fundraising activities (karaoke night/sponsored dramathon) to help pay for the costs in London and transport, costumes, props and so on. This is a collaborative project that everyone is expected to get involved with and support.
