🎬 Anything can happen in the Woods- Summer Camp Broadway Performance!!🌟

News: ITW  “Anything can happen in the Woods” Summer Camp Broadway performance.

From 30th June to 4th July, students gathered for an exciting week of musical theatre during the

“Anything can happen in the Woods” Camp Broadway Summer Experience ☀️

This week was filled with energy, creativity and collaboration between students, who sang, acted and recorded scenes from the musical show ✨

With inspiration from Into the Woods 🌲, a beloved Broadway musical with music and lyrics by Stephen Soundheim and a book by James Lapine. It premiered on Broadway in 1987 and has since become a staple of musical theatre around the world.

The story cleverly intertwined several classic fairy tales — Cinderella, Little Riding Hood, Jack and the Beanstalk, and Rapunzel— with an original story about a baker and his wife, who must venture into the woods to break a witch's curse and have a child.

Known for its clever storytelling and rich music , Into the Woods blends humour, fantasy, and real life lessons. The students of our Summer Camp created their own storylines, musical arrangements and choreography to portray their very own fairytale story!

Summer camp offers these young student performers a chance to explore the archetypal fairytale characters (like Red Riding Hood, The Wicked Witch and Mister Wolf) and play the balance between reality and fantasy. Each day was packed with video recordings 🎥 and character work of talented students. This camp has allowed the opportunity for students to have a chance to grow, bond and support each other 💚

Mark 15, Summer Camp student, said his favorite part of the week was:

Helping each other through acting and singing.
— Mark

Mark doesn't have much free time during the school year, so summer camp gives him the perfect space to focus on his passion.

He was inspired to join summer camp thanks to his sister, who attended the camp before him, and he was glad that he followed her.

The experience during this week has showcased each student's progress and talent.

The atmosphere was filled with laughter, learning and deep love for theatre 🎭

Polly 17, Summer Camp student, shared with us :

I have enjoyed singing because I like it, and it’s fun being around people.
It’s awesome to try different styles and perspectives on what makes a performance really work.
— Polly

Polly doesn’t get many chances to do musicals during the school year, so Summer Camp is the perfect opportunity for her to express her creativity and talent.

It’s just a fun way to dive into musical theatre for a week.

This summer camp was more than just filming, it was a week where students became a team, discovered new sides of themselves, and stepped into a new world — in the woods and into the spotlight.

Oscar 17, Summer Camp student, shared his experience with us:

I was bored and I thought that getting involved in a new and creative experience would be a great idea.
— Oscar

Even though Oscar  said - “I can’t really sing!” - he took the opportunity to express his creativity through acting.

I enjoyed going out into the forest with the other actors, moving around in nature, wearing funny looks while people passing near us.

This musical wasn’t just about people singing or acting — it was a moment where the passion of different individuals came together to create something meaningful.

The answers we got from some students show how important it is to work in a group, be part of something, and learn to collaborate to create a masterpiece ✨

Because ITW Summer Camp isn’t just a summer activity, it is an experience filled with enjoyment! 💛

❣️Stay tuned for our next Summer Camps theme next week Witches of OZ!!! 💚💗
