SENIOR CLASSES

Welcome to The Independent Theatre Workshop’s Senior Classes!

To get the most out of ITW we recommend that all our students take Creative Drama with ITW Dance as a basic membership package, in classes divided according to their school year.

ITW Members can add additional classes and avail of generous members-only discounts for classes that include Speech & Drama , Musical Theatre , Jazz Dance , Singing , Lyrical/Contemporary , Ballet and further classes to be taken at the discounted members rate.

On Saturdays students in Clonskeagh must take a combination of Creative Drama and ITW Dance (membership) and are welcome to add further classes at a discounted price. Our Drumcondra Saturday classes are available individually or as part of a bundle.

Senior ITW Dance

Senior Dance is a highly professional class that develops each student’s confidence in their dance abilities working on their dance technique and performance!

Senior singing 1st -3rd year

Both male and female voices are in a state of changing and settling during this phase. Vocal training can start to get more serious after the voice has changed. Every student’s instrument is different, especially at the Senior level.

Senior Creative Drama

A class filled with improvisation, role play, theatre games and creative thinking to inspire our students to make up characters, tell stories and explore their world using acting and performance techniques.

Speech & Drama

Our Speech & Drama students soon become articulate, confident and expressive speakers.They are quicker to speak up in class and imaginative and focused. They show a wide range of vocabulary in English assignments and remember quotes and poems. They understand and enjoy all kinds of dramatic and literary forms and love to read and go to the theatre.

Senior Prices

All fees are paid in 10 week Instalments three times per year in September, November, and February. Enrolment is for the full academic year.

SENIOR Dance and Creative Drama : €28 per week (Membership)

Adding Singing or Speech & Drama to membership: Additional €20 per week
Singing or Speech & Drama Only: €25 per week
Dance Only (60 min classes): €16 per week
Dance Only (90 min classes): €22 per week
Drama Only: €16 per week
YDA Youth Theatre Company: €22 per week
ITW Dance Company: €25 per week + Competition fees
Shakespeare Company: €220 participation fee
Musical Theatre: €220 per term (Members only)
Vocal Vibes/Showchoir: €16 per week / €14 (Members)
Private Lessons (Members): €35 per class
Private Lessons (Non Members): €40 per class

ITW PERFORM - FOR KEEN PERFORMERS

Our performing companies – ITW Junior Shakespeare Company , ITW Senior Musical Theatre Company , ITW Junior Musical Theatre Company , ITW Inter Dance Company and ITW Senior Dance Company are open only to ITW Members who take 2 or more classes a week at ITW.

ITW PERFORMANCE STUDIO

Graham dance company

ITW’s advanced Senior Dance Company seeks members with a great passion for dance who are committed to attending weekly rehearsals and classes. ITW Dance Companies travel to Dance Competitions and perform at Festivals throughout the year.

Khan Dance Company

ITW’s KHAN Dance Company seeks members 10-13 yrs of age with a great passion for dance who are committed to attending weekly rehearsals and classes. KHAN is one of three ITW Dance Companies who travel to Dance Competitions and perform at Festivals throughout the year.

Fosse Dance Company

ITW’s Fosse Dance Company has been a huge success in 2023/24 and we are excited for the next season! Especially for our Junior Dancers - our 6-9 year old members with a great passion for dance who are committed to attending weekly rehearsals and classes. ITW Shakespeare Company

Our ITW Shakespeare Company have been awarded Gold School Status having taken part in The Shakespeare School Festivals for over 10 years. We have performed A Midsummer Night’s Dream, The Merchant of Venice, Macbeth, Twelfth Night and Romeo & Juliet in recent years and we are delighted to have been selected again to participate in the Schools Shakespeare Festival 2023 - this time invited to perform in London.

ITW recitals

ITW Recitals take place twice a year. Our singing and speech and drama students perform the pieces the pieces they have been working on in our recitals at our inhouse recitals at Christmas and May.

CASTING OPPORTUNITIES

Also ensure your CV and Photo on your ITW Profile are kept up to date for representation by our ITWManagement Team and you could get to appear on Stage, Television or Film!

School Terms & Dates

Our classes run Sept to May in line with the Primary School Schedule with fees payable in 3 instalments (September, November, and February.) 30 weeks in total. Enrolment is for the full academic year.

We close for bank holiday weekends and school holidays. Holiday courses are often available during these times.

What to wear

The ITW Uniform is an ITW T Shirt And Hoodie (worn with black)

Leggings/tracksuit bottoms
Plimsolls / Dance Shoes for Dance and Drama.
These can all be purchased at ITW or via our Online Shop.
For everything else, we recommend picking up your dance wear from Dance World (Ranelagh, Parnell Street & online!)
