About ITW

To get the most out of ITW we recommend that all of our students take

Enrolment into Dance & Drama activates our special membership status.

ITW Members can add additional classes and avail of generous members-only discounts for classes that include Speech & Drama, Jazz Dance, Tap, Singing, Lyrical/Contemporary, Ballet and Hip Hop

Weekday and Sunday classes are available individually or as part of a bundle.

Two or more weekly classes taken =  ITW Membership, and allows further classes to be taken at the discounted members rate.

On Saturdays at ITW Clonskeagh individual classes are not available.

Our Saturday students are expected to take a combination of Creative Drama and ITW Dance (membership) and are welcome to add further classes at a discounted price. 

ITW Drumcondra Saturday classes can be taken individually or as part of a bundle.

We recommend that all students combine classes from our different Studios to get maximum benefits and value from their time at The Independent Theatre Workshop.

  • Vocal Vibes Showchoir in Clonskeagh

  • Hip Hop Performance Crew Monday nights in ITW Clonskeagh.

  • Thursday Singing Classes in Drumcondra.

The intermediate dance class in ITW is a fun dance class that focuses on technique and performance. In this class they get a taster of the various styles of dance Hip-Hop, Jazz, Contemporary and Musical Theatre are some of the types of dance students learn.

Our performing companies– ITW Junior Shakespeare Company, ITW Senior Shakespeare Company, ITW Senior Musical Theatre Company, ITW Junior Musical Theatre Company, ITW Junior, Inter and Senior Dance Companies are open only to ITW Members.

Our Youth Theatre – Young Dramatic Arts Theatre Company (16yrs+) is currently open to non-members

school Terms and dates

Our classes run Sept to  May in line with the Primary School Schedule with fees payable in 3 instalments (September, November, and February.) 30 weeks in total. Enrolment is for the full academic year.  

Our term dates can be found on our website calendar page. 

We close for Bank holiday weekends and school holidays. Holiday courses are available during these times. 
 

What to wear 

 

 

The ITW Uniform is:

  • An ITW t-shirt and sweat–shirt

  • Black leggings/tracksuit bottoms

  • Dance shoes or Plimsolls

The ITW Sweatshirt and T-Shirt can be purchased at ITW for €45 at the beginning of term. Dancewear is available at Dance World, Ranelagh and Dance Dimensions, Drumcondra

For Senior and Young Adult dance classes, the ITW Dance Studio T-shirt is available for €15 in the office. All dance classes added outside the ITW Membership (Dance and Drama) must wear form fitting black clothing with appropriate footwear (bare feet for Lyrical, ballet shoes for ballet, jazz shoes for Jazz/Musical Theatre and Hip Hop). 

The ITW Ailey Dance Company is exclusively for ITW students who are enrolled in at least 2 ITW Dance classes. This elite dance company prepares students who are keen to explore dance on a more serious note preparing them for college and pre-professi…
