This summer ☀️ , the Independent Theatre Workshop in Dublin lit up with laughter, talent, and creativity as young performers brought Matilda to life in a bold, funny, and thoroughly engaging performance.📚

From July 14th to 18th, the ITW Broadway Summer Camp gave its rising stars a magical opportunity to step into Matilda 🎓iconic world filled with courage, mischief and a whole lot of heart❣️

Under the expert guidance of professional directors and choreographers, the campers tackled the energetic musical with enthusiasm, humour and remarkable stage presence 🎵

With catchy songs, powerful choreography and a good sense of comedy, the show won over the audience and went from strength to strength throughout the week.

But the magic didn’t stop at the stage🌟

Behind the scenes, each day at camp was bursting with creativity, energy and joy🎉

From morning warm-ups to imaginative character workshops, theatre games and full group rehearsals, every moment was thoughtfully designed to build confidence and ignite imagination.

For many campers, it wasn’t just about preparing a show, it was about stepping into a world of fun, friendship, and fearless self expression.

As 10 year old Harriet shared:

“I love singing songs the most! I love that it’s a really funny show, and I’m excited to perform! I used to do summer camps then I quit, but I wanted to come here because it’s more professional. I want to improve my singing and dancing, and also to make friends!”

Her words echo the experience of many young performers at ITW, that theatre is not just about learning lines and choreography, but about discovering new facets of yourself, finding our voice and having an incredible time doing it ✨
